Delray Home Improvement Program

Timing: 2021 – 2024

Partner: Local Initiatives Support Corporation Detroit (LISC Detroit)

Launched in 2021, the Delray Home Improvement Program is a $4 million (CDN) investment that provided free home repairs for eligible homes or duplexes in the area surrounding the Gordie Howe International Bridge project and its US Port of Entry construction site in the Delray, Detroit neighbourhood.

Over 100 homes have had or are in process of having repairs done to their homes. All program spots have been filled and the project team is no longer accepting applications.

Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Detroit is administering the program on behalf of the project team.

The Delray Home Improvement Program was included in the project’s Community Benefits Plan based on feedback and requests from the Southwest Detroit community. The project team appreciates the contributions of many local stakeholders that participated in the program’s development.
