Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) was honoured to learn that the Gordie Howe International Bridge project was selected by Lexpert as Canadian Deal of the Year in its Top 10 Deals of 2018 released on February 14, 2019.

WDBA conducted a rigrous and transparent procurement process to select Bridging North America as its private-sector partner to design, build, operate, finance and maintain the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.

Bridging North America has identified a 74-month construction schedule which will see the $5.7 billion project open to traffic by the end of 2024. Bridging North America began full construction in October 2018.

Gordie Howe International Bridge workers recognized for lifesaving actions

In November 2023, two Gordie Howe International Bridge workers rescued four members of the public from a capsized boat in the frigid waters of the Detroit River. Now, their life-saving efforts are being recognized with Fluor’s Silver Medallion of Safety.
