On November 18, 2019, members from Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority and Bridging North America were honoured to be on hand in Toronto to accept the gold Project Financing Award for the Gordie Howe International Bridge project at the 2019 National Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Public-Private Partnerships, hosted by the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP).

The project is among five award recipients this year. The winning projects, located in the Northwest Territories, Quebec, Alberta and Ontario, showcase the diversity of projects using P3s to deliver innovative infrastructure that best serves the economic and social needs of Canadians. This award marks the eighth award the Gordie Howe International Bridge project has received from industry since 2017.
