IJGLOBAL AWARDS GORDIE HOWE INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE PROJECT ROAD DEAL OF YEAR

WINDSOR, ONTARIO – Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) today announced that the Gordie Howe International Bridge project was recognized by IJGlobal Project Finance and Infrastructure Journal as its 2018 Road Deal of the Year at an awards gala held in New York.

The IJGlobal Awards celebrate the best-in-class transactions to have closed over the past calendar year, across the international infrastructure and energy sectors and recognizes the organizations that play central roles in these deals. Valued for their rigorous selection process, and working in partnership with industry experts, the IJGlobal Awards recognize excellence in the delivery of challenging deals.

The Gordie Howe International Bridge project is one of the largest infrastructure projects in North America. Once in service, the new bridge will provide for redundancy, improved border processing and highway-to-highway international connectivity at the busiest trade corridor between Canada and the United States. It also addresses future needs and will provide six lanes to meet anticipated growth in traffic over the years to come.

The project includes ports of entry on each side of the border, a six-lane bridge with a dedicated multi-use path for pedestrians and cyclists, and a new interchange with I-75. The bridge is expected to be in service by the end of 2024.

Quotes:
