The story of the Gordie Howe International Bridge is a series of chapters highlighting the progress we’ve made to date and our deeply rooted connection with our host communities of Windsor and Detroit. Both communities play an important and vital role in our success and are interwoven into the history of this groundbreaking bi-national infrastructure project.

As we close the chapter on some key accomplishments, the Gordie Howe International Bridge project team is excited to unveil the first in a series of collectable commemorative patches that serve as a symbol to celebrate important project activities and help tell our story.

Marking the bridge towers reaching their full height, one of the most visual aspects of the project, the first commemorative patch will feature an image of the unique aesthetic design of the towers which are among the tallest structures in the Windsor-Detroit region.

Your first opportunity to pick up one of these patches will be at our Community Appreciation Breakfasts in Detroit at Clark Park on October 21, 2023, and in Windsor at Sandwich Teen Action Group on November 4, 2023.

If you would like to attend, please register here:

After that, the patches will be distributed at other community events we host or participate in.

As the Gordie Howe International Bridge project team continues to work toward opening the bridge, we will release new commemorative patches to help mark various achievements with the project. Follow along, stay connected and help us continue to write the story of the Gordie Howe International Bridge
